Peru Andean Tour - Itinerary

Day 1: Lima

Arrival in Lima, reception and transfer to your hotel.

Day 2: Lima - Cusco

Flight to Cusco the Ancient Capital of the Incas. A guided tour of Cusco will include visit to the Inca fortress of Sacsayhuaman, Tambomachay, Quenqo and the Qoricancha temple (Santo Domingo Temple). Dinner and folkloric show in the evening. Overnight accommodation.

Day 3: Cusco - Sacred Valley - Ollantaytambo

At the morning excursion to Urubamba, the sacred Valley of the Incas with a visit to the ancient Inca market of Pisac followed by a trip to the Pisac ruins above the town. Lunch before continue the tour to Ollantaytambo, site of the last undefeated bastion of the Inca Empire returning to Cusco Overnight accommodation.

Salkantay Machu Picchu

Day 4: Cusco - Mollepata - Soyrococha

At 5:30 a.m. we will pick up you from your hotel. We will leave by our private transport to Mollepata 2800m. beautiful scenic journey through Limatambo, stopping for panoramic views of the Apurimac valley, where you can have a breakfast, after that we will drive for 2 hours until our trailhead called Soraypampa 3725m. there we will meet our muleteers and trek staff, here we will have the lunch. Then, after 4 hours we will arrive to our first campsite Soyrococha 4200m. Overnight.

Day 5: Soyrococha - Wayracpampa - Chauyay

Today we will trek over a high pass at 4600m. with the snow capped mountain Salkantay on our right side as the snow capped mountain Humantay, Tucarhuay on the other. Once here, we will observe the glaciers of Salkantay and the magnificent view of the fall, one of many snow avalanches. Then down to camp in the valley below. We trek into a hidden part of the high Andes where our path is the only access into remote area. We will be passing through some of the most spectacular sceneries in Perú, trekking over ice passes, across high planes and down into the jungle. We will eventually descend into the cloud forest where the vegetation and wild life will become abundant. We will camp at Chauyay. Overnight.

Day 6: Chauyay - Playa - Santa Teresa

We leave from Chauyay early after breakfast, at 06:30 a.m. we will start trek for the day through the upper jungle, we will cross the Lluskamayo River and a variety of the little brooks. We will pass through valleys and will have wonderful views of waterfalls, flora and fauna endemic of the region, tropical fruits. We will stop in Playa (Sahuayaco) 2250m. for lunch, and then we will take a small bus for 45 minutes until Santa Teresa (Cocalmayo thermal baths) where we will have our campsite. Overnight

Day 7: Santa Teresa - Lucmababa - Hidroelectrica - Aguas Calientes

After breakfast we will drive to Lucmabamba to begin our hike through the Inca Trail (Q´apaqñan) we will be traveling on a much less populated route which was only rediscovered in 2003. As we enter the Inka Trail we will enjoy the stunning landscapes views, the archaeological remains of Llactapata, the majestic citadel of Machu Picchu and the main sacred mountains of the Incas Huaynapicchu, and Putucusi including the snow capped mountain Salkantay. After our box lunch we will begin our descent towards the hydroelectric station where we will take the train bound for the town of Aguas Calientes were we will have dinner and stay in Hotel.

Day 8: Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Ollantaytambo - Cusco

Very early (5:00am) we will have our breakfast, and then we will catch the first bus to the citadel of Machu Picchu. Once inside the citadel we will go quickly to the door entrance of the mountain Huaynapicchu order to reserve a space in order to ascend the mountain, which has only one limit (400 people a day maximum). After your ticket has been purchased we will start the tour of the city about two hours with thirty minutes. Next you will climb the mountain Huaynapicchu and tour different sites recommended by our guide, such as Inti Punku, Machu Picchu Mountains, and Inca Bridge. Finally, return by train to the town of Ollantaytambo, and then take a bus to return to Cusco Overnight accommodation.

Puno

Day 9: Cusco - Puno

Departure by private vehicle to Puno we will visit in the route several Inca ruins and the remains of the great Wiracocha Temple, Raqchi. We shall also stop at the highest point along the way, La Raya before arriving to Puno, tramsferring to your hotel for overnight accommodation.

Day 10: Puno - Lake Titicaca

After the breakfast, transfer to the port for the boat trip on Lake Titicaca to the reed islands of Uros. A visit to the Aymara island of taquile before return in the afternoon to Puno overnight Accommodation

Day 11: Puno - Arequipa

Morning transfer to the airport of Juliaca to take the flight to Arequipa, one of the most beautiful cities in Perú, city tour of the “white city” including the 16th century convent which is built entirely of volcanic lava. The Misti Volcano stands as a sentinel behind this colonial city. Overnight accommodation.

Arequipa Colca

Day 12: Colca Canyon - Arequipa

An early start visit the Colca Canyon, the second deepest in the world (the deepest canyon lies only a few kilometers from here) we shall also have an opportunity to see the huge Condor (bultur griffus), the worlds largest flying bird before returning to Arequipa overnight accommodation.

Day 13: Arequipa - Lima

Return flight to Lima free day and leisure, farewell Dinner.

Day 14: Lima

Transfers to the Airport for you return flight home
