This Andean Cordillera called Vilcabamba was a place to be safe. The Incas took refuge in this Cordiller for the ast battle against the Spanish conquerors.
An abrupt land with high peaks, snow-covered mountains and subtropical valleys helped to preserve peace in many Incas cities. The Spanish belieed thee cities keep large treasures in culture, civilization and wealth.
The Vilcabamba Cordillera includes Salkantay the highest summit-at 6,271 m.a.s.l. and Huamantay 5,917 m.a.s.l.


At 5:30 a.m. we will pick up you from your hotel. We will leave by our private transport to Mollepata 2800m. beautiful scenic journey through Limatambo, stopping for panoramic views of the Apurimac valley, where you can have a breakfast, after that we will drive for 2 hours until our trailhead called Soraypampa 3725m. there we will meet our muleteers and trek staff, here we will have the lunch. Then, after 4 hours we will arrive to our first campsite Soyrococha 4200m. overnight.
Today we will trek over a high pass at 4600m. with the snow capped mountain Salkantay on our right side as the snow capped mountain Humantay, Tucarhuay on the other. Once here, we will observe the glaciers of Salkantay and the magnificent view of the fall, one of many snow avalanches. Then down to camp in the valley below. We trek into a hidden part of the high Andes where our path is the only access into remote area. We will be passing through some of the most spectacular sceneries in Perú, trekking over ice passes, across high planes and down into the jungle. We will eventually descend into the cloud forest where the vegetation and wild life will become abundant. We will camp at Chauyay overnight.

We leave from Chauyay early after breakfast, at 06:30 a.m. we will start trek for the day through the upper jungle, we will cross the Lluskamayo River and a variety of the little brooks. We will pass through valleys and will have wonderful views of waterfalls, flora and fauna endemic of the region, tropical fruits. We will stop in Playa (Sahuayaco) 2250m. for lunch, and then we will take a small bus for 45 minutes until Santa Teresa (Cocalmayo thermal baths) where we will have our campsite overnight
After breakfast we will drive to Lucmabamba to begin our hike through the Inca Trail (Q´apaqñan) we will be traveling on a much less populated route which was only rediscovered in 2003. As we enter the Inka Trail we will enjoy the stunning landscapes views, the archaeological remains of Llactapata, the majestic citadel of Machu Picchu and the main sacred mountains of the Incas Huaynapicchu, and Putucusi including the snow capped mountain Salkantay. After our box lunch we will begin our descent towards the hydroelectric station where we will take the train bound for the town of Aguas Calientes were we will have dinner overnight.

Very early (5:00am) we will have our breakfast, then we will catch the first bus to the citadel of Machu Picchu. Once inside the citadel we will go quickly to the door entrance of the mountain Huaynapicchu order to reserve a space in order to ascend the mountain, which has only one limit (400 people a day maximum). After your ticket has been purchased we will start the tour of the city about two hours with thirty minutes. Next you will climb the mountain Huaynapicchu and tour different sites recommended by our guide, such as Inti Punku, Machu Picchu Mountains, and Inca Bridge. Finally, return by train to the town of Ollantaytambo, and then take a bus to return to Cusco.
