Cusco

Cusco is an interesting combination of robust geography, fertile Andean valleys and imposing mountains descending to the edge of the jungle where the temperature rises and the scenery is rich in vegetations.
The city, ancient capital of the Inkas Empire, was declared a World Heritage Side by UNESCO in 1983 and Cusco is one of Peru’s most important Tourism destinations.
Cusco is considered one of the most cities of the continent. The name Qosqo in quechua means (The earth’s navel) there are many myths about the creations of the city. How ever, it is the known that the city existed before the Inka Empire “5000 BC”.
The Spanish foundation of the city took place in 1534. Later it was the seat of the first Bishop of South America and the center of a great cultural activity. In  Cusco this Maravellous city also has exiting day and night life, including cafes, restaurants, discos and bars that cater for all tastes.
The narrow streets and impressive colonial image of the city of Cusco contain some marvelous cultural legacies.
Cusco Main Square It was know in inka times as (Huacaypata) a quechua word meaning (place of weeping or meeting) it was important ceremonial location in which the Inti Raymi or festival of the Sun was help each year, with the arrival of the Spanish, the square was transformed stone arcades and the buildings which surround it to this day were erected.
