
The Manu biosphere Reserve
The Manu biosphere Reserve covers an area of almost 2.25 million ha( almost half the size of Switzerland) and is one of the largest conservation units on earth, encompassing the complete drainage of the Manu River, with an altitudinal range from 200 m. to 4200 m. above the sea level. No other rain forest can compare with Manu for the diversity of life forms. The reserve is one of the great bird watching spot of the word; a magical animal kingdom which offers the best chance of seeing giant otters, jaguars tropical wilderness, the more remote area of the reserve are home to indigenous groups with a little or no knowledge of the out side word.
