The Government want to improve the service,order and experience of visitors to Machu Picchu announced that the Entrance to Machu Picchu that until December 2018 was in 3 shifts has changed for this 2019, the entrance to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu will be in 9 shifts, from 6 a.m. is entered by spaces of 1 hour until 2 p.m.
Times and number of spaces to Machu Picchu by turns:
- Entrance to Machu Picchu 1st turn 6 a.m., 2nd turn 7 a.m., 3rd turn 8 a.m. they have a limit of 800 people per shift.
- Entrance to Machu Picchu 4th shift 9a.m., 5th shift 10 a.m., 6th turn 11 a.m. they have a limit of 600 people per shift.
- Entrance to Machu Picchu 7th shift 12 p.m., 8th turn 1 p.m., 9th turn 2p.m. they have a limit of 360 people per shift.
In the case of tickets to Machu Picchu that include the mountains (Huayna Picchu and Machu Picchu), the entry times are:
Group 1 – Entrance to Machu Picchu from 6 a.m. The entrance to Waynapicchu mountain is 7 a.m. at 8 a.m.
Group 2 – Entrance to Machu Picchu from 7 a.m. The entrance to Waynapicchu mountain is 7 a.m. at 8 a.m.
Group 3 – Entrance to Machu Picchu from 8 a.m. The entrance to the Waynapicchu mountain is 10.30 a.m. at 11.30 a.m.

The entrance to the mountain Machu Picchu is similar to that of Waynapicchu.
Group 1 – Entrance to Machupicchu from 6 a.m. Access to the Machu Picchu mountain is open from 7 a.m. at 8 a.m.
Group 2 – Entrance to Machu Picchu from 7 a.m. Access to the Machu Picchu mountain is open from 7 a.m. at 8 a.m.
Group 3 – Entrance to Machupicchu from 8 a.m. Access to the Machu Picchu mountain is open from 9 a.m. at 10 a.m.
These changes of Entrance to Machu Picchu was announced by the decentralized commission of Foreign Trade and Tourism, this measure will allow to improve all the connection services to Machu Picchu main tourist attraction of Peru.
Mincetur indicated that this measure was coordinated, developed and promoted by the Ministry of Culture, also has the support of Mincetur, the Ministry of the Environment, authorities of the Cusco region, tourist associations, among others.
