Manu National Park is one of the most beautiful places in the world, home to uncontacted jungle tribes and plants and animals found nowhere else on earth; its landscapes will dazzle any visitor. Designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1987, it is famous for being home to an enormous biodiversity of plants and animals: 15,000 plant species, a million insect species, 200 mammals, 15 monkey species and more than 1,000 bird species. Visiting Manu National Park, located in the biggest jungle of Peru, is a fascinating experience that should not be missed by any traveler.
Our bike route starts with a descent from the highlands down through vast Peruvian plains and gradually connects with exuberant vegetation of the tropical jungle and cloud forest. After our bike ride to the jungle, we’ll raft down the Manu River to observe the Macaw clay lick.

Day 1: Cusco - Paucartambo
At 8:00am we will pick you up from your hotel. Then we will begin our journey by private bus to Pisac and will cross the high pass located at 4,800m (15,840 ft). From here, we will begin our bicycle descent until we reach the town of Paucartambo.
Day 2: Paucartambo - San Pedro
After breakfast, we will travel by bus to Ajanaco Pass (3,500m / 11,550 ft) and begin our descent to the town of San Pedro (4 hours). In San Pedro, we’ll see the national bird of Peru, the “Gallito de las Rocas” (Cock of the Rock - Rupicola peruviana).
Day 3: San Pedro - Pillcopata - Atalaya
Starting early, we will continue biking to Pilcopata. Our bike journey ends here, but our rafting one just starts! We will prepare our rafting equipment and receive safety instructions, then follow the river down to Atalaya and continue through the Manu Reserved area. We will arrive in Cusco at night.
